urad dal/minapappu/white lentils : 1 cup
rice flour/corn flour(starch) : 2 table spoons
red food colour : 1/4 tea spoon
Oil for deep frying
sugar : 3 cups
water : 1 and 1/2 cups
pinch of red food colour for sugar syrup
Tips to make perfect jangri :
Use grinder or a mixie which will give you a fluffy batter.
Oil should always be heated in low flame or low-medium flame,other wise,the jangris will blow to a bigger size and become brittle or soggy.
Use only flat bottomed pan.
If you want you can use ghee too but use 50 percent oil 50 percent ghee.
Jangri should be light and crispy enough to absorb the syrup,if they are not fried properly jangri may turn soggy and soft.
Beat the batter well with your hand at anti clockwise direction only to make batter light and fluffy.
